Komorebi (木漏れ日)

Komorebi roughly translates as “the scattered light that filters through when sunlight shines through trees”. The term is now closely connected with the concept of ‘Forest Bathing’, and everytime I see the light passing through tree leaves in the forests, I am reminded of the aesthetic ideals of the Japansese people.

It is not so easy to capture in photography. You have to be there at the right moment. Unless you are using AI software to edit your photos - then you can just stay at home and do ‘the trick’. However, you will then have missed the profound and spiritual moment in the forest - which makes the whole difference between imagination and true experience.
